What is a Prickly bird, you ask? It's a bird that has spent most of her life in hiding. Some may call it hibernation. Others may call it fear. Her environment was just enough for her to grow her wings, but not expansive enough for her to learn how to fly. When other birds flu, she admired. She spent several years admiring the intricate wings that carried them into flight and dancing with the wind. Her admiration was the only movement she knew of. All the other birds dismissed her- often commenting on her appearance. She developed prickly's on her skin that made her the talk of the town. The more others would talk, the more prickly she became- often sinking further into herself. But one day- while resting in the sunlight, her prickle grew into hundreds that covered her little wings and legs. She cried a deep sorrowful cry as more prickles grew out of her tiny body, often weighing down her wings. She realized that the only way she was going to take flight- was by embracing ...
